In order not to create false expectations, in the paragraph on alternative social networks, I'd add that for sheer numerical reasons alternative social networks don't work as we are used to in bigger social networks because there are not as many users to connect to.

I see your point but some of them are specifically built to disguise the social graph - so that comment would be valid only from a usability perspective, right?
