I want to share a document securely

If you want to share a document with a friend or two, without anyone else being able to access this document, several options are available. You can send this document as an email attachment, as described in I want to learn about encrypting email or use a stand alone GPG4USB to encrypt a select file/s. In either case both parties need to have set-up and exchanged their keys in advance - to decrypt the recevied. You can also use an encrypted messaging service or do a file transfer if both parties have set-up a secure chat session.
